Rhino Pro filters really are the best out there for horticultural purposes. We’re yet to see a carbon filter that matches the lifespan and odour control abilities of the Rhino Pros. Although slightly more expensive than some other filters on the market, Rhino Pros are built to last and are the economic choice for long term use. If you can afford a Rhino Pro, buy one, you won’t be disappointed.
For carbon filters to be truly effective the carbon used needs to have a massive surface area to trap and neutralise odours and smells. An oxidised carbon known as ‘activated carbon’ is used in all good carbon filters. The oxidisation process vastly increases the surface area of the carbon and therefore enhances its ability to trap unwanted smells.
To illustrate the effectiveness of activated carbon, just a single gram will have a surface area greater than 500 metres squared and five grams will have a surface area roughly equal to that of a football pitch – it really is incredible stuff when you look at it this way.
It’s those incredible properties that make carbon filters like the Rhino Pro so effective at odour control. To learn more about Rhino Pro filters watch the video below. How do I set-up this carbon filter?
